Welcome back to another edition of the Kenton County Chronicles.
Quick housekeeping note: Last month, we heard from a couple employees that they were not receiving the Chronicles directly to their inboxes, so we recalibrated our email list and hopefully that issue is now fixed.
Now, let's dive into this month's edition.

Meet our July Employee Spotlight: Jackie Thornsburg
Serving in law enforcement is a stressful career, but for the officers of the Kenton County Police Department, there's a secret weapon - Jackie Thornsburg.
Thornsburg has spent more than 30 years working alongside KCPD's officers, managing the office-side of the house and serving as an unofficial therapist to those in need. When she reflects on her career, Thornsburg said the thing that stands out most is connections she's made with the officers who have dedicated their careers to protecting and serving the residents of Kenton County.
“Jackie is a fixture at the Kenton County Police Department," KCPD Chief Spike Jones said. "She is the welcoming personality folks encounter when they come into the Department for assistance. We are fortunate to have Jackie on our team and I appreciate her dedication to the people of Kenton County.”

Congratulations to Kenton County Detention Center Deputy Dean Gollar on the birth of his daughter, Aubrey Rose.
Parks wraps another summer softball season
A big shoutout to our Kenton County Parks & Recreation team for another fantastic season of summer softball.
Each summer, Kenton County Parks & Recreations hosts several softball leagues for residents. It's a big lift - from dragging ball fields to organizing league schedules.
And an extra hooray to Rhonda Ritzi, our programs coordinator, for navigating another season of summer programming. Each week in the summer, Rhonda welcomes hundreds of families to our parks for Art in the Park, Wild Wednesday and (Almost) Every Other Thursday Science. These events are a logistical challenge and each year she makes it look easy.
Sgt. Hogan reporting for duty
We welcomed the Kenton County Police Department's newest sergeant on July 8 - Sgt. Tim Hogan.
Sgt. Hogan has served on our team for 6.5 years, and has consistently gone above and beyond to protect, serve and connect with our community. Whether it’s through leadership on the street, mentorship within the department or meaningful engagement with residents, his commitment to public service is unwavering.
