Kenton County Chronicles Posted on August 09, 2024

Kenton County team,

Welcome to another edition of our internal newsletter, the Kenton County Chronicles.

This month, you will learn:

  • How to manage your medications and find savings opportunities through Kroger Prescription Plans;
  • How to receive complimentary wellness coaching from Premise Health; and
  • Recent employee stories.

Kroger Prescription Plans: Online tools for your medication needs

Did you know that you can manage your Kroger prescription drug information online?

Kenton County team members enrolled in our medical plan have access to our prescription drug plan administered through Kroger Prescription Plans (KPP)

By visiting the KPP website and setting up an account (you'll need your Custom Design Benefits member number), you can review and control your prescriptions and discover savings opportunities through the Consumer Portal.

Three benefits of using the Consumer Portal

  1. Save on prescriptions: See what you've paid for prescription drugs before and check prices for new ones. You might find more affordable alternative options for your medicines.
  2. Manage your medications easily: Find nearby pharmacies or set up home delivery for medications you take regularly. You can also set reminders for refills via text or call.
  3. Learn about your medications: Get key facts about your medications. See what they're used for, possible side effects and how they might mix with other drugs.

Additionally, the Consumer Portal lets you:

  • Print or pull up your ID card;
  • Update your account details;
  • Choose how you want to get updates (text or email); and
  • Track how much you've spent on prescription drugs this year.

Using the Kroger Prescription Plans website helps you stay on top of your prescription needs. Need help? Call Kroger Prescription Plans at 800.917.4926.

 Frequently asked questions

Can I use the portal to refill prescriptions or do I still need to call my pharmacy?

You can request refills through the portal for many prescriptions, such as medications you regularly take. For certain medications, you will need to contact your pharmacy directly.

What if I forget my login information or have trouble accessing my account?

On the login page, you'll find options to reset your password or username. If you still have issues, call the helpline at 800.917.4926.

Meet Kenton County's new Treasurer

Kurt Greivenkamp and family

Mondays will never be the same in the Treasury department. Our team said farewell to Roy Cox on Friday, June 28, after 12 years of his impeccable leadership. We wish him a wonderful retirement.

But never fear, Kenton County's new treasurer is a familiar face. Kurt Greivenkamp, our assistant treasurer for the past seven years, officially stepped into his new role on July 1.

Fun facts about Kurt

  • He's been married for three years and has three kids, Kohen, Kade and Josie.
  • His favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing and beating his kids in backyard soccer and wiffle ball.
  • The Greivenkamp family's favorite weekend getaway spots are Red River Gorge and Hocking Hills, with Hilton Head as a top vacation destination.
  • The family also has a cockapoo named Maple.

Kenton County Emergency Communications Center team moves downtown (temporarily)

KCECC team in Kenton County Government Center

From June 24 to July 8, the Kenton County Emergency Communications Center (KCECC) team called Covington its homebase while renovation work was underway at its Independence HQ.

On the surface, this may seem like a simple switch for the team. But in reality, it's the culmination of years of work to give Kenton County its own fully redundant operations center, with our teams from Technology Services, Homeland Security & Emergency Management and dispatch all pitching in. Having this space guarantees County residents will always have their calls answered.

Thank you to our KCECC team for their flexibility over the past couple of weeks and to everyone who helped ensure the successful continuation of this essential emergency service.
